Oral Health Care Plans: Dental Floss

Posted .

When you are ready to take your smile to the next level and advance your oral health care, look for new ways to improve your interdental cleaning. Through the use of interdental cleaning, you can easily clean between teeth with highly effective tools such as dental floss. By using durable dental floss safely and effectively, you can dramatically improve your oral health care. Some of the benefits of dental floss include the following:

– When using threaded floss, always opt for a strand that is roughly 18” in length. At this length, you will be able to easily clean between each tooth without ever having to re-contaminate or reuse any section of the thread. Along the same lines, never use the same strand more than once, as contamination will occur.

– Try to floss between your teeth at least once a day for 2 to 3 minutes at a time. Always make sure to floss between every single tooth and don’t forget the teeth in the back row.

– Always speak with your dentist about product recommendations or suggestions about any interdental cleaning tools you may use. If you are interested in using a water flosser, look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance on product packaging.

– Shred-resistant floss is much more effective for cleaning between your mouth as it guarantees it will not tear upon use.
